A wild Andean tree known as Tara (Caesalpinia spinosa), native to Peruvian high altitude forests. It endured dry climates and grows in sandy to stony soild. Wild Jujube (Zizyphus spinosa) prefers dry soil and is native to western and northern China, although it can also be found in India, Korea and Mongolia. Wild jujube and its seeds are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for many activities It also protects against gamma radiations and cell damage caused by them, against oxidative damage and lipid peroxidation. It decreases nerve cell damage, reduces the level of triglycerides, low-density lipoproteins and total cholesterol in the blood, increases the activity of superoxide dismutase and increases the body’s immune function.
